Description
The Colonial Style Beeswax Candle is molded in traditional candle molds to what a chandler would have used to speed production in the late Colonial period. Rather than dipping all candles as would have been done at home, or in many businesses, candles began to be molded in tin or wood molds. We source authentic period style molds, insert cotton braided wick, and pour in pure beeswax to create these authentic period style candles. While tallow was popular at the time, we prefer beeswax as it also was commonly used, and offers a sweet, lovely scent. Our candles are handmade on our farm in Southeast Idaho from well sourced American beeswax. Lend authenticity and charm to your mantle or display, or anywhere in your home environment with these candles!
Burn Times:
Our candles can be expected to burn at a rate of about 1 inch per hour with some variance possible due to environmental conditions. I have found that inside a lantern where heat builds up, they burn quite a bit faster, however. Environmental factors as well as the depth of your candle holder can affect your burn times.
Caution:
Never leave a lit or recently extinguished candle unattended. You may wish to dip the wick in water to increase the probability you have put the flame out before leaving a recently used candle unattended. All normal cautions with candles apply! Keep away from drapes, fuels and combustibles, grease or oils. Keep away from anything with a caution on it to keep it away from open flame!
